Description
LOCATION: DAMASCUS, SYRIA
USE: HOSPITALITY
Scope: EXTERNAL & FAÇADE LIGHTING DESIGN
The lighting proposal was primarily guided by the traditional three-tiered scheme.
To emphasize the building’s volume and presence in the neighborhood, both the base and top were treated as high lighting level areas. The middle zone was then designed as a medium light zone with a strong emphasis on architectural details, enhancing the overall appearance of the hotel.
The strict lighting strategy was enhanced by the use of warm white color light, which increased the golden hue of the stone. Finally, the red lantern effect at the top provides a contrasting and contemporary anecdote to the building, bringing it up to date.
