Description
Location: Doha, Qatar
USE: Food & Beverage
Scope: Internal Lighting Design
The lighting scheme at this high-end restaurant was designed to enhance the dining experience by utilizing a variety of lighting layers. A cooler temperature of light is observed, complementing the restaurant’s white finishes and projecting a ceremonious mood.
Task lighting makes up the first layer. Recessed pinhole downlights aimed at the tables provide adequate illumination while reducing the possibility of light spills. Two key areas where an interesting combination of unique decorative and cove lights was used were the bar counter and the chef’s table.
The second layer is made up of vertical features and joinery with indirect lighting. The vertical elements draw the guest’s attention and improve the overall atmosphere of the space, while joinery lighting provides the necessary illumination on the bar counter without creating any aesthetic clutter.
