Description
LOCATION: Riyadh, KSA
USE: HOSPITALITY
Scope: INTERNAL LIGHTING DESIGN
The architectural lighting scheme used a distinctive yet practical combination of direct and indirect lighting throughout all interior spaces, complemented by the addition of elegant decorative fixtures to emphasize the refined nature of the Biltmore Hotel.
In terms of direct lighting, recessed downlights with varying beam angles were used to create soft ambient lighting or dramatic effects through accent lighting. The indirect lighting, which is made up of hidden linear lights mounted into coves, helps to highlight interior architectural details while adding an appealing layer of light.
The use of multiple layers of light gave the operator more flexibility in creating a variety of different lighting scenarios for each area. The lighting levels were carefully chosen to complement the function of each space. Dimmable lighting sources were chosen in order to create a more energy-efficient lighting scheme.
