After developing the lighting for the restoration of the 1926 movie palace, The El Capitan in Hollywood, the Disney studio executive brought us in to design the lighting for his home screening room, working with the same theater designer who designed the El Capitan restoration.

As was common with classic theaters, there were many layers and textures, with a programmed reveal of the screen through a series of curtain transitions, each lit separately and dramatically, using a combination of architectural, theatrical, and special effect lighting.  The system was programmed to interface with the projection and audio system
