The Prime Tower

LOCATION: DUBAI, UAE
USE: HIGH RISE – Offices & Corporate
Scope: INTERNAL & FAÇADE LIGHTING DESIGN

The structure was viewed as a blank canvas, with light used to amaze and, more importantly, to distinguish itself from the surrounding towers. The tower was interpreted as a reflection of the sky, specifically the stars that guided sailors and bedouins in the past.

The star constellations’ random arrangement contrasts beautifully with the rigorous structure of the glazing, revealing an unexpected effect. The gradual concentration of the bright dots emphasizes the outer shell’s curvature while visually stretching the tower towards the sky. Three light colors (white, turquoise, and blue) give the glass surface depth and texture while conveying the star mood.

Both roofs were washed gently to indicate the end of the various masses and to suggest the volumetric gesture of the building. The strange shapes can be compared to crescent moons in a starry sky.
